ENGIE Electrabel is administered by a Board of Directors made up of fifteen members, that is assisted by an Audit Committee. The company's day-to-day management is the task of the Chief Executive Officer, who is appointed by the Board. The Management assists the CEO in the executive management of the company

The public limited company ENGIE Electrabel was established in 1905, called ‘Electriciteitsmaatschappij der Schelde’. After a series of mergers, it developed into the biggest energy company in Belgium. As from 1990, its name is ENGIE Electrabel.
