Renewable energy is an integral part of Electrabel's diversified generating facilities. The company operates in several countries in Europe wind farms, hydroelectric power stations and units burning biomass. Electrabel always chooses financially profitable industrial projects.
In 2009, the company wants 18 % or 6 300 MW of its generating capacity to be renewable energy-based.
