Brussels - GDF SUEZ group has taken note of the programm law that was published in the Belgian law gazette on 23 December 2009 to levy – as in 2008 - a contribution of 250 million euros to all nuclear operators in Belgium for 2009 and insists on reminding its explicit objections.

The Group considers the principle itself of this contribution contestable, particularly because it would be discriminatory, as it only hits the three nuclear power producers in Belgium and this without justifying the difference in treatment with an objective relation between the measure and the motives of general interest concerning nuclear power generation.

In accordance with legal terms, the Group paid its contribution of 213 million euros today, through its branch Synatom, but explicitly confirms its intention to apply to the Constitutional Court with a request for nullification.
