Environment

All of Electrabel's strategic decisions take full account of environmental protection and sustainable development.

The company puts great effort into reducing emissions of greenhouse gases and acid pollutants, and promoting renewable sources of energy. Electrabel is continually modernising its power stations and equipping them with new technologies. The proportion of electricity derived from renewable sources is steadily increasing. Electrabel concludes environmental agreements with the public authorities, frequently on a voluntary basis.

Customers can rely on a wide range of services for saving energy and thus helping to protect the environment. These include monitoring and fine-tuning energy consumption, drawing up plans for efficient use of energy, energy consulting, tailored audits, and training in rational use of energy. The company is keen to pass on its specialist know-how to its customers, so as to help them meet their environmental obligations.
